VAT Calculator Ireland is an informational tool. The calculators apply the standard VAT formulas and the guides describe the Irish VAT system as published by the Revenue Commissioners. None of it is professional, legal, financial or tax advice, and none of it is tailored to your situation. Which rate applies to your particular product, whether you must register, how to treat an unusual transaction: those are questions for Revenue or for a qualified accountant, not for a website.
Accuracy and updates
We check our figures against Revenue's published guidance and we update the site when rates change; the move of restaurant food and hairdressing to 9% on 1 July 2026 is the most recent example. Even so, we make no warranty that every page is complete, current or free of errors at the moment you read it. VAT rules change by Budget, by Finance Act and sometimes by ministerial order, and there can be a gap between a change taking effect and this site reflecting it. Before acting on a rate, confirm it in Revenue's official VAT rates database. If you spot something wrong, please tell us through the contact page and we will check it.

VAT Calculator Ireland and its operators are not liable for any loss or damage, direct or indirect, connected with the use of this site, including losses arising from an incorrect rate, a rounding difference, a filing decision or reliance on an out-of-date page. The calculators round figures to the number of decimals you select, which can differ by a cent from figures produced under other rounding conventions; our about page explains exactly how rounding works.
